Kids Slant™
Scoring System

Driving Competition

The area selected for the driving competition should be as flat as possible to ensure a true test of ability ... The driving area should be 50 yards wide.
Scoring Driving scores will be the total yardage minus the distance from the center line ... Best of 3 shots.
Example A 225 yard drive that is 25 yards away from the center line would be scored as a total driving distance of 200 yards.

225 minus 25 = A total score of 200
The new Kids Slant standardized scoring system allows for adverse weather conditions, i.e. wet playing areas and prevailing winds, and creates ideal playing conditions worldwide.

Pitching Competition

Boys & Girls

Ages 7 & Under  •  10 Yard Shot
  Ages 8-10  •  20 Yard Shot
Ages 11-14  •  40 Yard Shot
Ages 15-17  •  60 Yard Shot

Scoring Pitching scores will be the exact feet and inches away from the hole. Convert to inches and subtract from 360 ... Best of 3 shots.
Note The best shot must be within 30 feet of the hole to earn any points ... A distance greater than 30 feet equals zero points.
Example A pitch that is 10 feet and 6 inches (126 total inches) away from the hole would be scored as follows:

360 minus 126 = A total score of 234

Putting Competition

The green selected for the putting competition should be consistent with regular playing conditions and designated as follows:
Holes Length
1, 2 and 3

10'

4, 5 and 6

20'

7, 8 and 9

30'

Scoring Putting scores will be the total score for all 9 holes. Multiply a player's total score times 10 and then subtract from 360.
Note The maximum number of strokes allowed on each hole is 4.
Example A total of 21 putts over the designated 9 hole course would be scored as follows:

21 times 10 = 210
360 minus 210 = A total score of 150

Total Score

Generally, total scores will range from 200 to 900, with 900 being the best score.

Tiebreakers

(1) Match cards starting with the putting competition ... Start on the 9th hole and compare scores working backwards.
(2)
If necessary, match cards in the pitching competition and then, finally, in the driving competition.
(3)
If absolutely necessary, use grade point averages to break any remaining ties.
